Seventh Generation Community Projects promotes integrated sustainable living practices in the greater Ottawa area. We provide lectures, tours, workshops, and resources on a wide variety of topics including: solar & wind energy, energy efficiency, straw bale housing, simple living, permaculture, healthy homes, and more. By serving as an example and by providing educational hands-on experience, we help people make earth-wise choices that support the environment, our health, community and economy. In 2007, Seventh Generation Community Projects merged with Tucker House Renewal Centre in order to strengthen and widen its outreach and positive impact in the community.

Solar H2Ottawa is an initiative that aims to inform consumers about the benefits of solar water heating, while also making it cheaper!
Solar H2Ottawa’s goal is to stimulate the installation of 250 solar domestic hot water systems by 2010. Sustainable Ottawa has partnered with Seventh Generation Community Projects to provide FREE educational seminars across Ottawa, in both English and French. These seminars are being supported by a grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation and will provide interested individuals with the opportunity to learn about solar hot water heating and find out if it is right for them.
We are always looking for partners who would be interested in co-hosting an educational workshop in their community. We also offer lunch & learn sessions to businesses that would like to provide a unique learning opportunity for their employees. Find out more about Solar H2Ottawa!
Learn about energy efficiency!
The Get Energy Smart! program which aims to inform the public on simple low-to-no cost ways to reduce their household carbon footprint and save money. Get Energy Smart! is free and includes city-wide seminar series, a green homes and green spaces walking tour and hands-on energy saving workshops.
